Download and Saving

No files are of an excessive size and should download quickly and you should experience no problems in the normal course of things.

However please remember that download speed can vary enormously for reasons that may be outside of your control - or our control. Depending on your connection and how it is used, you might like to ensure that you and others in your home, are not using your internet connection at the same time in ways that might slow the download speed.

Download Instructions will be sent to you after making a purchase and will vary according to the image purchased. You are asked to follow those instructions.

Please note that the images can be downloaded for up to 36 hours after purchase - and will not be available after that time.

Some files will be delivered as a compressed Zip file. If you do not have software already installed that can be used to unzip these files, then be assured there are a number of FREE software programs available that you can use.

Please make sure you download AND SAVE the images at a place on your computer where you can later retrieve them. We recommend you open a folder entitled "cardmaking-ideas" to store your downloads - and make sure that this folder is included in your backup routines.

Images are delivered in PDF or Jpeg format.

To open the PDF files you will need to have Adobe Reader installed on your computer. The vast majority of computers have, for some time, been sold with this pre-installed. If you do not have a copy it is available for free from Adobe.

JPeg files can be opened by a number of software programs. One such program is Windows Photo Gallery.



Printing

You are free to print each image as many times as you wish.


Print Preview and Printer Default Settings

We recommend that you make use of your printers "print preview" facility before printing any image for the first time. We also suggest you check the suitability of any default settings - such as "borderless" printing - which may need adjustment.


Printing PDF Files

Sheets delivered in PDF format are intended to be printed as single sheets containing the entire image. These can be cut to size as required.


Printing Jpeg Files

Some images are delivered as Jpeg files. This format has been used where there you could make better use of the images by printing them in a range of different sizes. By using software, such as Windows Photo Gallery you can choose from a range of options allowing the image to be printed between one and 35 per sheet - which of course alters the size of the printed image. This provides great flexibility in deciding how to use the images.

If you are using sizes that print on less than a full sheet - for example a third or half of the sheet - simply place the same sheet of paper back into your printer - being careful to reverse it. You can print the same pattern in a different size, or an entirely diffferent pattern.

When using Windows Photo Gallery remember to combine the printing options with the "copies of each picture" option on the right hand side - and to toggle the "Fit Picture To Frame" option to make sure you can confirm the whole image will be printed.


Print Quality

All files have been printed and confirmed as being of good quality using a standard colour printer.

Colour shades may vary from the screen image for a number of reasons which we are not able to control. For example your screen settings might not faithfully reproduce the actual image. Your choice of ink quality may cause variation - and might change according to the settings you choose.

Unfortunately the number of printers and the variation in ink quality makes it impossible to offer advice that could be guaranteed to be suitable for all individuals. However the following can be safely recommended.

Firstly use a good quality paper - 90 gsm is probably the lower grade of paper that is advisable - but better quality paper would give better results. Printing to 160 gsm gives excellent results. Printing directlly to card stock is also an option, provided your printer can handle this. Use good quality inks - your printer's recommended inks should provide excellent results.

Use a printer that is suitable for this kind of print work - and print using a quality that is also suitable. Please start by printing a single sheet.
